WHAT IS A PARENT'S ROLE?

Parenting is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from before birth to adulthood. Parenting refers to the activity of raising a child rather than the biological relationship.
It is a parent's role to:
- Provide physical safety and to protect their child from dangers
- Provide shelter, clothes, nourishment
- Care for a child's health
- Provide a child with the means to develop physically
- To train the body of a child, helping develop good habits of health and to introduce to exercise
- Provide an atmosphere of peace and justice and respect to one's dignity
- Provide an environment without fear, threat, and abuse
- Support and / or provide school related learning: Reading, writing, calculating etc.
- Teach social skills and etiquette
- Nurture in Moral and Spiritual development, creating good ethics and value systems
- Provide a safe loving environment giving the child a sense of being loved, needed, and wanted
- Provide Emotional support and encouragement
- Shoe empathy and compassion to your child and to teach these attributes to your child

In a "PARENTING A CHILD" parenting class we will address each age and stage of a child's life, concentrating on your child's particular age and stage of development.
